Dr Nikita Quartey is a Counselling Psychologist with extensive experience working across the full spectrum of mental health settings. Over the course of her career, she has worked with older adults, adults, children and young people, couples and families. She has extensive experience within the NHS, working as a Clinical Lead for a Community Mental Health Service. Dr Nikita has further experience within private practice, hospital settings, prisons and forensic environments  — a breadth of experience that lends her clinical work both rigour and a rare depth of human understanding.

Dr Nikita holds a BSc in Psychology with Professional Development, a Graduate Certificate in Counselling Psychology, and a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology. She is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist.

Her clinical experience encompasses a wide range of presentations, including depression, anxiety, trauma, OCD, personality difficulties, life transitions, identity and relational difficulties, and neurodiversity. She approaches each client as a whole person, informed by her commitment to Pluralism — a therapeutic philosophy that recognises the many contributing factors and theoretical perspectives that shape an individual's experience of distress. Drawing most consistently from Systemic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy, she also integrates principles from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness as her clients' needs require.

Dr Nikita holds a particular passion for working with diversity, and brings thoughtful attention to the ways in which intersectionality — encompassing identity, culture, background and lived experience — shapes how individuals, couples and families understand their difficulties, engage in the therapeutic relationship, and experience the process of change. Above all, she is committed to creating a therapeutic environment in which clients feel safe enough to be their authentic selves, and supported enough to work collaboratively towards the change that matters most to them.
