Dr Hannah Canny

Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy), MSc. Research in Clinical Psychology, BSc. (Hons) Psychology

HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) registered Clinical Psychologist

Hannah is a HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years’ experience working within the NHS. She completed an undergraduate degree in Psychology, followed by a Master’s degree in Research in Clinical Psychology, before undertaking her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of East Anglia
(UEA).


Alongside her private practice, Hannah currently works as a Highly Specialised Clinical Psychologist within an NHS autism assessment service. She has worked across a wide range of adult and child, mental and physical health services. Her previous experience includes working in CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services), working at Addenbrooke’s Hospital within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), and contributing to the Grenfell Health and Wellbeing Service, supporting individuals and communities
following the devastating tragedy.

 

Hannah takes an integrative and person-centred approach to therapy, tailoring her work to each individual’s unique needs and circumstances. She draws on a range of evidence-based models, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), and systemic approaches. 

 

She aims to provide a warm, inclusive, compassionate, and non-judgemental therapeutic space where people feel heard, understood, and supported. Hannah places strong emphasis on collaboration, working alongside individuals to build a shared understanding of their experiences and identify what feels most helpful for them. Her work focuses on developing a trusting relationship that supports people to develop new perspectives, strengthen coping strategies, and move towards meaningful and valued change.
