Dr Emma Palluotto

Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy), BSc. (Hons) Psychology with Professional Placement

Dr Emma Palluotto is a Clinical Psychologist who works as an associate at The Lotus Psychology Practice. Emma specialises in working with both with children and young people as well as adults. Emma gained a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Bath before going on to complete a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of East London.

Alongside her private practice, Emma works as a Clinical Psychologist in an NHS autism assessment service. She has undertaken specialist training to offer specialist assessments for autism, ADHD and learning disabilities. Emma is very passionate about neuro-affirming approaches and care. Prior to this, Emma has worked predominantly in busy London hospitals including Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and University College London Hospital (UCLH) to support individuals across the lifespan with the psychological impact of living with very rare and complex physical health conditions. Emma’s role at UCLH also involved offering psychological support within the maternity service to women experiencing complex pregnancies or with previous loss or trauma.

 

Emma adopts an integrative approach, drawing upon therapy models including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion-focused Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She is able to adapt and be flexible, tailoring interventions to meet the unique needs and preferences of each person that she works with. Emma is dedicated to a warm, compassionate, inclusive, and non-judgemental approach. She collaboratively works with individuals towards their goals and places great importance on building a strong therapeutic rapport.

 

Emma’s doctoral research focused on trauma-informed practice in schools, and this is an area that she feels particularly passionate about.
