Dr Madeleine Irish

Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy), Masters of Psychology (MSc), BSc. (Hons) Psychology

(Health and Care Professions Council) and BABCP (The British Association for Behavioural and
Cognitive Psychotherapies) registered Clinical Psychologist.

Dr Madeleine Irish is an HCPC- and BABCP-registered Clinical Psychologist experienced in working with children, young people, adults and families within the NHS. Madeleine worked in mental health research at Kings College London before completing her doctorate training from University of Oxford. Madeleine has a specialist interest in eating disorders and currently works within an all-age NHS eating disorder service. She also supports clients experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, trauma, OCD and low self-esteem.


Madeleine strives to create a warm, collaborative and compassionate space where clients can speak freely and honestly, and be supported with meaningful steps forward in their lives. She has extensive experience working with neurodivergent children and young people, and is committed to neuro- affirming, inclusive practice.


She is trained in a wide range of psychological therapies, enabling her to tailor interventions to each client’s needs. This includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-based interventions, family-based therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT).


Madeleine is able to offer sessions in-person (Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire) or online.
