Dr Anthony Green is a Counselling Psychologist and associate at The Lotus Psychology Practice. Anthony completed an undergraduate degree, followed by a masters degree in Psychology before undertaking his doctorate training and qualifying as a Counselling Psychologist at City, University of London.
Anthony has substantial experience working with children and adults in a variety of NHS services, University counselling services, special educational needs schools, charities and psychiatric hospitals. Alongside his private clinic, Anthony currently works at City St George's, University of London as a Lecturer, and as a Counselling Psychologist supporting students experiencing mental health difficulties or requiring support relating to neurodevelopment conditions such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Anthony is particular passionate about supporting individuals with psychological trauma, anxiety, depression and low self-esteem, and relationship difficulties.
Anthony has completed further specialist training in a range of psychological therapies, enabling him to offer a broad range of approaches, which are tailored to the individual needs of his clients. These include Person Centred Therapy, Family Systemic Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Eye-Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and adapted therapy for neurodiverse clients (see approaches to therapy). Anthony prides himself on working flexibly, using the therapeutic approach which best suits each client. Anthony focuses on helping clients to overcome their difficulties and heal, achieve their goals, and to grow. A compassionate, non-judgemental space for free expression is the cornerstone of Anthony’s practice. Clients can choose between relatively structured, practical support or a less structured, explorative approach, or a blend of both. All predicated on evidenced-based techniques and expert psychological knowledge. ​

Anthony is also involved in psychological research. He studied the impact of smartphone and social media use on the mental wellbeing of young people for his doctoral research, and disseminated findings in City St George’s University undergraduate lectures.​
