Dr Sheetal Patel is a HCPC registered Counselling Psychologist with a strong background in supporting individuals across a wide spectrum of mental health difficulties across the NHS and within specialist services. She holds a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology from City University London, alongside Masters degrees in Psychological Counselling and Health Psychology.

Sheetal works integratively, drawing on a range of evidence-based models including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), narrative therapy and trauma-informed approaches. Her practice is rooted in developing safe, collaborative and meaningful therapeutic relationships where clients feel heard, supported and empowered.

Her clinical experience centres on individual therapeutic work, where she supports clients with a wide range of psychological and emotional difficulties. She is skilled in comprehensive assessment, formulation and delivering evidence-based interventions tailored to each person’s needs.

Sheetal has a particular expertise in supporting individuals experiencing difficulties related to menopause and midlife transitions. She is trained in the EMBERS Menopause CBT-informed model and brings a compassionate, psychologically informed understanding of the emotional, cognitive and identity-related impacts of menopause. This interest is informed by both her clinical training and her broader commitment to supporting women’s mental health and wellbeing across life stages.

Alongside her private work, Sheetal also works in the NHS supporting staff wellbeing, offering individual support, team consultation, reflective practice and debriefs following challenging or traumatic events. Her approach helps staff acknowledge the realities of their work and take thoughtful, values-based steps toward wellbeing.

In all aspects of her work, Sheetal is committed to compassion, cultural sensitivity and shared understanding, supporting individuals to make space for their experience while choosing actions that move them toward a meaningful and authentic life.
